Behind the Pages: The Story of “Finn the Kitty” and a Little Publishing Plot Twist
When I released Finn the Kitty Rhyming Stories – Book One, it was a labor of love — all 240 pages of it! Full of whimsy, rhythm, and feline adventures, it was meant to be the start of something magical. And while I’m proud of every rhyming moment, what I didn’t expect was the high cost on printing. As it turns out, a 240-page color paperback isn’t too wallet-friendly — for me or for readers.
So I did what indie authors do best: pivoted. I’ve now reimagined the book into two lighter volumes — one about 140 pages , the other abut 115 pages — making them far more affordable and easier to share with the world.
For those lucky few who bought the original full-length book: you now own a rare collector’s item. There are very few copies of that version out there, and if I ever become a household name in children’s rhymes, well… your book might just become a treasure!
As for the new Book Two, here’s an important heads-up: If you already have the original 240-page edition, you don’t need to buy Book Two. It’s mostly content you already own, with just a couple of new stories sprinkled in — not quite enough to justify the second purchase.
This change is to ensure that more readers (and their little listeners) can enjoy Finn’s tales without breaking the bank.
